Author note: Whipped cream would make a perfect additional topper.

1) Place two scoops of homemade vanilla ice cream (click here for recipe) in the bottom of a glass. Pour the root beer on top of the ice cream.
2) Top with festive sprinkles and serve with a colored straw.
