In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows with a few drops of food coloring and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.

Add Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well coated.

Remove mixture from burner and allow to cool for 5 minutes. (This will help the pumpkins hold their shape.)

Spray your hands with non-stick spray or rub butter on your hands to avoid sticking to the mixture.

Scoop handfuls of the mixture into your pal and roll into small balls. Place on wax paper and allow to cool completely. If the pumpkin will not stay formed, allow the krispie mixture to cool longer.

Press Tootsie Rolls into the top of the balls to create the “stem” of the pumpkin. You can also use icing to create decorative leaves.
